“Who run the world? GIRLS ” – Beyonce

Honoring the Women Who Shape Our World

In celebration of Women’s History Month, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible women who influence our lives every day. From the inspiring women on our team to the cherished loved ones who support us, and the remarkable female clients we have the privilege to work with, this month is dedicated to you.

As Beyoncé famously said, “Who run the world? Girls.” And I couldn’t agree more. Behind every successful man, there’s a strong-willed mother, a supportive partner, or a determined daughter. It’s the women in our lives who teach us resilience, drive, and the importance of standing tall in the face of adversity.

In this month’s podcast, I reflect on the evolving landscape of gender dynamics, particularly in the realm of finance and wealth-building. I discuss why I believe that, in our lifetime, women will not only earn more than men but also excel in building wealth at a faster rate.

When I founded TMFP, I aimed to democratize financial planning services, making them accessible to younger generations. It was a bold move, challenging the status quo of an industry traditionally focused on older demographics. Yet, I saw a shift in the marketplace—a surge in combined household incomes, with women often leading the charge.

What became evident was that women were not only earning substantial incomes but also taking the reins in financial decision-making. Their proactive approach to seeking guidance, their engagement in financial planning meetings, and their commitment to executing action steps set them apart.

Despite the progress we’ve made, women still face unique challenges on the path to wealth accumulation. From the persistent income gap to barriers in corporate advancement, the road to financial empowerment isn’t always smooth. Yet, I remain optimistic about the future.

While statistical evidence may lag behind, anecdotal observations paint a clear picture of women’s rising influence in the financial sphere. Their willingness to seek advice, coupled with their knack for execution, positions them as formidable forces in the wealth-building journey.

However, this upward trajectory comes with its own set of complexities. The societal pressures, the juggling act of career and family, and the persistent gender stereotypes—all contribute to a landscape where success comes at a price.

As we navigate these challenges, let’s take a moment to recognize the invaluable contributions of the women around us. Let’s celebrate their achievements, support their endeavors, and champion their aspirations.

To all the women who inspire us, empower us, and shape the world around us, thank you. Here’s to a future where gender equality isn’t just a dream but a reality—a world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.

Thank you for joining me in this reflection, and happy Women’s History Month.

Warm regards,

Alan Franks,
